Academic Work

Last modified: November'08

In my second year at the Univerisity of La Coruña, studing Computer Science, I present my first raytracing engine rayito in the Computer Graphics subject. This opened me the door to the scientific research, as the teacher, Julian Dorado, told me to work with him in his group, RNASA Lab. In next three year (2001-2003) I was working there in different projects: developing a volume visualization system over SGI architectures (ONYX), collaborating with the Hybrid Society project, as a developer and musician, and giving support to the CG subject.

After that, I joined to the Computer Graphics Group VideaLab, leaded by Luis Hernández, where I found surrounded with great researchers, and where I learned most I know. Here I do my job regarding real time visualization, mostly about civil engineering, and virtual reality.

In this pic there are the most important people for me in graphics. From left to right, Andrew Glassner, because his book "An introduction to Ray Tracing" was the first one I read and introduced me to this world. Next one is me :). The next is John Hughes, one of the authors of the CG bible "Computer Graphics: Principles and Practice". Finally, Luis Hernandez, head of VideaLab.
