Time capsule

Last updated October 21, 2026

Things found in old folders. They were written when I was a student at the University of A Coruña, before any of the research on this site, and they are here because people still ask for them now and then, and because they are fun to look at. Spanish throughout.

Linux manual, first page
Alberto Jaspe-Villanueva
Manual October 2002, 115 pages A course manual written in LaTeX for a Linux administration course I taught at the university: basic concepts, the shell, administration, networking and services. Debian era.
OpenGL tutorial, first page
Alberto Jaspe-Villanueva and Julián Dorado
Tutorial 2003, 57 pages Course notes on OpenGL 1.x for the computer graphics course: the state machine, the pipeline, transformations, lighting, textures and display lists. Still cited now and then, which says something about how long fixed-function OpenGL lasted.
Award letter, first prize of the business ideas contest
Alberto Jaspe-Villanueva, Javier Taibo, Antonio Seoane, and Rubén López
Business idea July 2003 First prize in the students category of the first Business Ideas Contest (1NEBT) of the University of A Coruña, for a home multimedia services box. Twenty years later every living room has one, so the idea was fine; the timing was not.
Blender course, video thumbnail
Alberto Jaspe-Villanueva and Rubén López
Video course 2004, five parts of about 45 minutes A Blender modelling course at the first GPUL Graphic Design and Free Software days (I Jornadas de Diseño Gráfico y Software Libre) at the Faculty of Computer Science of the University of A Coruña, taped in 2004 and put on YouTube in 2020 by Francisco Javier Tsao Santín. Click the thumbnail to watch it here; the player goes through the five parts in order.
